JOHANNESBURG - The Health Department reported 92 more COVID-19 deaths in the last 24 hours, taking the death toll to over 53,000.
Just over 1,400 new cases have been reported.
South Africa's COVID-19 recovery rate is 95 percent.
Meanwhile, thousands have already registered to get their vaccinations when the second phase of the rollout kicks off in May.
The online registration system opened on Friday.
Those over 60 are urged to register.
