COVID-19 cases increase by 1,575

JOHANNESBURG - The country has recorded almost 700,000 positive cases and 17,780 deaths.

The health department recorded 107 COVID-19 related deaths and 1,575 new cases over the last 24 to 48 hours.

Most of the deaths were in the Eastern Cape.

The country’s recovery rate is at 90 percent.

Government says people should continue protecting themselves and those around them.
