JOHANNESBURG - Health Minister, Zweli Mkhize, has described the spread of Coronavirus in South Africa as explosive.

At least 62 people have tested positive for Covid-19 and more tests are currently underway.

South Africa has closed the majority of its border posts following an increase in infections in the country.

President Cyril Ramaphosa announced control measures for the viral outbreak on Sunday evening.

The Premier Soccer League has also been suspended.

Chairperson Irvin Khoza announced the PSL will suspend all football fixtures this week until further notice.

Scientists say a vaccine for COVID-19 could only be available in over a year.
