COVID-19 cases increase by 1,928

JOHANNESBURG - The health department said 1,928 new COVID-19 cases were reported in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number to 702,131.

South Africa's COVID-19 death toll has increased by 38.

This brings the number of deaths in the country to 18,408.

Recoveries stand at 630,436 which translates to a recovery rate of 90 percent.

This means the country has just over 53,287 active cases.

Over 4.5 million coronavirus tests have been completed.
