COVID-19 Corruption | Makhura: People will be held accountable

JOHANNESBURG - Gauteng Premier David Makhura is adamant that those involved in the dodgy awarding of PPE contracts will be held accountable.

On Thursday, the former Chief Financial Officer of the provincial Health Department appeared before a Special Tribunal.

Kabelo Lehloenya is accused of signing off on “unlawful” multi-million-rand contracts issued at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Lehloenya contends that Makhura must also be held accountable, she says the corruption happened under his watch.
