COVID-19 In SA: 1,778 new cases, 11 deaths

JOHANNESBURG - The second batch of Pfizer vaccines hit our shores this weekend.

Over 325,000 doses are expected to arrive weekly until the end of May.

The second phase of the vaccine rollout will begin on 17 May targeting senior citizens.

Meanwhile, 1,778 new cases have been reported in the last 24 hours.

11 more people have died, taking the death toll to 54,735.

The total number of active COVID-19 cases in the country stands at 25,604.
