COVID-19 infections increase by 1,674

JOHANNESBURG - The number of new COVID-19 cases has increased by 1,674.

This brings the number of active cases to 21,240.

Most of these are in KwaZulu Natal followed by the Northern Cape.

The health department said 19 more people have died, taking the death toll to 54,350.

The country's recovery rate still stands at 95 percent.
