JOHANNESBURG - Funeral parlours have had to change the way they operate during the time of COVID-19.

Identifying and certifying corpses have become a challenge with no clear regulations on how this should be done while staying safe.

One of the ways in which a body is identified is by taking fingerprints, but this has become a headache for funeral parlours as there are no clear regulations on how to do this safely.

Another nightmare is the sheer number of corpses coming to the Eastern Cape from the Western Cape, currently the epicentre of the COVID-19 outbreak in South Africa.
