COVID-19 ravaging Gauteng, says Makhura

The COVID-19 third wave is ravaging Gauteng with everyone highly susceptible to infection, and now is the time to be concerned. That's according to Premier David Makhura who revealed the military health services unit will be helping doctors at provincial hospitals. JOHANNESBURG - The COVID-19 third wave is ravaging Gauteng.

Over 9,000 new cases have been reported in the last 24 hours with 69 percent of those in Gauteng.

Another 341 people have been admitted to hospital.

The military health services unit is being deployed to assist at provincial hospitals

At the same time, authorities are considering harsher restrictions.
