JOHANNESBURG - In the past 24-hours, a further 553 COVID-19 deaths have been reported.
More than 10,000 new cases have been identified countrywide.
The Western Cape recorded the highest cases, 2,745 new infections in the last 24 hours.
Followed by Kwa-Zulu Natal with 2,288 new infections and Gauteng recorded 1,241 new infections.
The latest deaths bring South Africa's total COVID-19 fatalities to 77,993.
