COVID-19 in SA: 1,101 new cases recorded

JOHANNESBURG - South Africa has recorded 1,101 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours.

That brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 1,575,471.

The health department said 23 more people have died because of the virus.

The active cases in the country are numbered at 20,138.

The recovery rate is at 95 percent.
