JOHANNESBURG - There have been 1,637 new COVID-19 cases that have in South Africa in the last 24 hours.
That brings the total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in the country to 1,572,985.
Sadly 71 more people have died from the virus.
The death toll has now risen to 54,066.
The recovery rate remains high at 95-percent.
There just 19,809 active cases nationwide.
