JOHANNESBURG - The National Institute for Communicable Diseases said 1,980 new COVID019 cases have been recorded in the last 24 hours.
Gauteng continues to lead infections with 764 cases followed by the Western Cape with 493 new infections.
KwaZulu-Natal is at 317 cases and Mpumalanga is on 102 infections.
The rest of the provinces recorded below a hundred cases.
In the last 24 to 48 hours, three people have died due to Covid-19 related complications.
The positivity rate stands at 6.2 percent.
