JOHANNESBURG - South Africa has recorded 2,862 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours.
8 people have died, taking the death toll to 96,851.
Gauteng is leading in terms of new infections with 1,095 cases.
The Western Cape is second with over 472 cases.
The positivity rate stands at 8.7% percent.
