COVID-19 in SA: 5,451 new cases, 97 deaths

JOHANNESBURG - South Africa has recorded 5,451 new COVID-19 infections in the last 24 hours.

A further 97 people have died due to the virus, bringing total fatalities to 56,929.

The country currently has a 93.2 percent recovery rate.

More than 40,000 tests have been conducted since the last report.
