JOHANNESBURG - Over 83,000 people now have COVID-19 in South Africa.
This after 5,552 new infections were recorded in a single day.
A further 114 people have died, taking the death toll well over 57,800
Gauteng still accounts for the majority of infections, recording 3,720 new ones.
Just over 30,000 tests were conducted in 24 hours.
