JOHANNESBURG - South Africa has recorded 849 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours.
That brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 1,576,320.
The health department said 38 more people have died because of the virus.
The active cases in the country are numbered at 20,254.
The recovery rate is at 95 percent.
