COVID-19 in SA: 856 new cases, 194 deaths recorded

JOHANNESBURG - The country has again recorded below a thousand new COVID-19 cases.

The health department said 856 new cases have been identified over the last 24 hours.

The death toll, however, has increased by 194 to 50,271.

Recoveries now stand at over 1.4 million with the recovery rate at 94.6 percent.

Just over 76,000 people have been vaccinated under the Sisonke Protocol.
