COVID-19: SA cases rise to 52, 991, death toll at 1,162

JOHANNESBURG - South Africa's COVID-19 death toll has seen another significant increase in the last 24-hours. 

A further 82 people have died, bringing the death toll to 1,162.
 
The deaths were reported in the Western Cape, Eastern Cape and Gauteng. 

Close to 53,000 people have now tested positive for COVID-19 in South Africa.

Just over 29,000 of them have recovered.
