JOHANNESBURG - The NICD said 173 people have sadly died in the last 24 hours, bringing the country's death toll to 85,952.
More than 3,600 new cases have been recorded.
The Western Cape is leading with 748 cases, followed by KwaZulu-Natal with 744 cases.
Over 43,000 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours.
The positivity rate stands at 8.3 percent.
