JOHANNESBURG - The Department of Health reported 198 new COVID-19 deaths in South Africa, taking the death toll to 10,408.

Most of the new deaths are from the Eastern Cape and KwaZulu-Natal.

The number of confirmed cases has increased by 6,670, taking the total number of infections to 559, 858.

More than 400,000 patients have recovered from COVID-19.

SA has a COVID-19 recovery rate of 73%.
