COVID-19: SA death toll over 8,000

JOHANNESBURG - South Africa's COVID-19 death toll has surpassed 8,000.

The country recorded 193 more death, mostly in Gauteng, KZN and the Western Cape.

The number of confirmed cases is approaching 500,000.

SA now has just over 493,000 infections.

According to the health department, the recovery rate translates to 66% as 326,171 patients have recovered from the virus.
