COVID-19: SA infections exceed 500,000

 JOHANNESBURG - South Africa's COVID-19 cases have passed the half-a-million mark.

The health department recorded more than 10,000 new infections in the last 24 hours, taking the cumulative total of COVID-19 cases to 503, 290.

The department also recorded 148 more deaths, bringing the death toll to 8153.

Most of the new deaths were recorded in KZN and Gauteng.

More than 342,000 people have recovered from the virus.
