JOHANNESBURG - The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in South Africa is 118,375.

Over 6,500 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in the last 24 hours.

The Health Department reported 87 new deaths, bringing the death toll to nearly 2,300.

The spike in new Gauteng cases is gaining momentum.
