COVID-19: SA infections soar

JOHANNESBURG - South Africa has 264,184 confirmed COVID-19 cases. 

A total of 13,497 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours.

Gauteng will soon breach 100,000 confirmed cases. 

KZN and the Eastern Cape also have more new confirmed cases than the Western Cape.

The Health Department reported 38 new CCOVID-19 related deaths in the Western Cape, 30 in the Eastern Cape, 26 in Gauteng, 13 in KZN and 4 in the Northern Cape.

Of those who tested positive, nearly half have already recovered.

Gauteng has almost half of the active cases in the country.
