JOHANNESBURG - South Africa has recorded 5,575 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24-hour reporting cycle.
The health department said 246 more people have died.
Infections in the Western Cape stand at 1,773 and 1,047 in Gauteng.
The positivity rate stands at just under 22 percent.
A total of 25,489 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours.
