COVID-19 | Health Dept plans to scrap some regulations

JOHANNESBURG - Wearing masks indoors may soon be a thing of the past.




Health Minister Joe Phaahla has recommended the dropping of some key Covid-19 rules.

These include the wearing of masks, limits on gatherings, and entry requirements.

He has now asked his MECs to comment on the proposal.

The memo sent to them says there has been a decline in cases, hospitalisations, and deaths.

The recommendations will be presented to Cabinet on Wednesday.
