BLOEMFONTEIN - Lockdown restrictions may be eased even further.

Health Minister Joe Phaahla says the lockdown level may be dropped if COVID-19 cases continue to decline.

The minister visited the Universitas Academic Hospital in Bloemfontein.

He said the third wave of coronavirus infections in South Africa was very long, but that we’re seeing light at the end of the tunnel now.

The minister said the rate of new infections and hospitalisations are both declining.
