COVID-19: SA reports 53 deaths, 1,834 new infections

JOHANNESBURG - The health department reported 1,834 new COVID-19 cases in South Africa in the last 24 hours.

This brings the total number of cases to 714,246.

There have been 53 additional COVID-19 deaths recorded, although only 20 of these occurred in the past 48 hours.

South Africa's COVID-19 death toll has increased to 18,944.

Recoveries currently stand at 644,641, which translates to a 90-percent recovery rate.
