JOHANNESBURG - The University of Johannesburg has adopted mandatory vaccination, following a trend in the higher education sector.
Staff, postdoctoral research fellows and students will need to provide proof of vaccination before entering campus.
The policy also applies to contractors and visitors.
The university says exemption based on medical or religious grounds will be made.
It says it will balance the rights of individuals against the rights of the broader university community.
The policy will take effect from next month.
Wits, the University of Cape Town and Rhodes University have all made vaccines mandatory on campus.
