JOHANNESBURG - The DA  has formally applied for access to the business contract signed by President Cyril Ramaphosa's son and the embattled Bosasa group of companies.

Andile Ramaphosa is said to have received a R500,000 payment from the company.

Last week, the president told Parliament that he believes the payment had been above board.

He further said his son had a financial consultancy firm that does work for a number of companies, including Bosasa.

The company has been embroiled in a number of controversies in the past few weeks involving high profile individuals and politicians.

Last year, the multi-services company changed its name to African Global Operations.
