JOHANNESBURG - Nursing union Denosa says President Cyril Ramaphosa is ignoring the plight of healthcare workers.

It welcomed the announcement of the relief package, but says those on the frontlines are being left out.

The union is calling on the President and the Minister of Health to prioritise nurses' needs and salaries.

Salaries have not been adjusted this month, as per the collective agreement, and Denosa and other unions have declared a dispute.

The union says Ramaphosa's announcement has left many nurses feeling underappreciated, despite their commitment to fighting COVID-19.
