JOHANNESBURG - New mayor Dada Morero is under no illusions as to the amount of work he faces, to turn Johannesburg into a liveable city.
The problems are many. For some of the city's roads, it's gone beyond just the repair of potholes, resurfacing is required.
Large parts of the city remain in the dark because of broken down street lights, even though load shedding is suspended and traffic intersections that have also been out for months.
These are just some of the basic services that have collapsed in South Africa's economic hub.
The mayor says he's committed to getting it right.
Morero spoke with eNCA about his plans for the city.
