Don't drive at night: traffic official

Here's a look at the traffic patterns as the Easter weekend comes to an end. More than 2,000 vehicles have passed the Mooi Plaza north-bound between one and 2pm.

JOHANNESBURG - Traffic has been a primary concern for many motorists making their way back to Gauteng after the Easter weekend.

More than 2,000 vehicles have passed the Mooi Plaza north-bound between 1 pm and 2 pm.1,800 vehicles have gone through the De Hoek Plaza.

The N3 Toll Concession's Con Roux said road users should avoid travelling at night when there is reduced visibility and fatigue affecting drivers.

He advised motorists should have road-worthy vehicles with operating lights and tires with sufficient tread.

Roux also said during the rainy weather, motorists should observe double their usual following distance and reduce their speed as much as possible.
