Driving licence, vehicle testing stations to reopen

JOHANNESBURG - Driving licence and vehicle testing stations will reopen during level 3 lockdown.

Transport Minister Fikile Mbalula made the announcement during a media briefing on transport regulations during the lockdown.

SA Lockdown: Licencing period extended

"All drivers’ licence testing centres, vehicle testing centres and provincial regulatory entities will resume their operations on 1 June 2020, subject to strict application of health norms and standards," he said.

Mbalula said testing centres will have to pass an assessment on their state of readiness test which will be conducted by the Road Traffic Management Corporation.
