Economy, energy crisis tops list at first cabinet lekgotla

JOHANNESBURG - The economy and the energy crisis are high on the agenda of the first cabinet lekgotla. 

The meeting is meant to set out the government's programme for the next five years.

It will also deliberate on how to implement the ANC's manifesto promises.

This includes a review of legislation governing public funds. 

According to Minister in the Presidency Jackson Mthembu, the serious problems with the GDP will also be discussed.

"We'll even deal with that infrastructure that caused us serious problems in the contracting of our GDP. Energy. What do we need to do and do fast and quickly?"
