Political parties weigh in on Wodumo saga

JOHANNESBURG - There's an outpouring of support for singer Babes Wodumo after a live Instagram video showing her being beaten by boyfriend Mampintsha went viral. 

The EFF has opened a case of assault against Mampintsha in Durban.

The party's KZN chairperson, Vusi Khoza, says they've tried to reach out to Wodumo.  

DA leader Mmusi Maimane also weighed in on the saga, saying Mampintsha shouldn’t come with excuses and should just face the music for his actions.

Maimane says the musician, who's seen slapping Wodumo in the video, should be jailed.
