JOHANNESBURG - The Economic Freedom Fighters is demanding government immediately reopen the political space.
The party says it will be writing to President Cyril Ramaphosa to demand an immediate resumption of political activity.
The party is also threatening to take legal action.
It says it will challenge the constitutionality of the ban on political gatherings under lockdown regulations if its request is denied.

The EFF says restrictions are irrational and claims it can't engage in programmes to hold government accountable.
The EFF is also in the process of trying to get the local government elections postponed.
The party argues it hasn't been able to prepare for elections fairly because of the lockdown.
