Christmas by candlelight in Zimbabwe

The Zimbabwe Electricity Supply Authority says it's trying to ensure the power stays on this Christmas. It's managed to get a back-up system for the Hwange Thermal Power Station. But Harare residents are not convinced and have their own back-up plans. eNCA correspondent Pindai Dube reports. #dstv403

HARARE - South Africans will be able to keep the Christmas lights on this year, but the same can't be said for Zimbabwe.

The country is facing a power crisis.

It's all due to low water levels at the Kariba Dam Hydro Power Plant.

Ageing infrastructure at the Hwange Thermal Power Station is also adding to the problem.

But the power utility is doing everything in its power to keep Christmas lights on.
