EMS members march for better work conditions

JOHANNESBURG - Workers from Gauteng’s emergency medical services are accusing the health department of exploitation.

They marched to the department's offices in Johannesburg on Thursday and handed over a memorandum, demanding payment for extra hours worked.

The department has been given two weeks to respond positively.

Workers say if their concerns are not addressed, ambulances will not respond to emergency calls.
