JOHANNESBURG - A 39-year-old South African has been arrested in Rio, Brazil.
Gerhardus Jansen van Vuuren allegedly beat and stabbed his ex-girlfriend, Andrea Venter to death in 2013.
He was charged with murder, granted R15,000 bail, and then fled to South America.
South African authorities say Van Vuuren was arrested by Brazilian Federal Police on Thursday.
It's believed he will be extradited to South Africa soon.
