Expect influx of COVID-19 patients: Mkhize

JOHANNESBURG - Health Minister Zweli Mkhize said South Africans must realise the seriousness of COVID-19 and continue to observe measures to protect themselves.

Mkhize said social distancing is key.

The minister expects an influx of COVID-19 patients in the coming weeks.

He said more field hospitals and beds are needed.

Mkhize was speaking at a handover ceremony in Rustenburg on Wednesday, where a massive consignment of personal protective equipment was handed over from Sibanye Stillwater and Old Mutual.
