Durban beach water suitable for swimming: report

DURBAN - Holidaymakers in Durban North found themselves in an unusual position with no beaches to visit.

That’s because several Durban beaches were closed after the discovery of a foreign substance in the water.

These include the North, Bay, Laguna and Battery beaches.

The eThekwini Municipality has released the results of its beach water quality.

Murky waters prompted the city to make the move as a precautionary measure.

Results revealed that the water is pollution free and suitable for swimming.
