Firefighters back in SA after stint in Canada

JOHANNESBURG - More than a hundred firefighters have returned to South Africa from Canada.

The Environment, Forestry and Fisheries Department says it's proud of their work in Manitoba.

The firefighters left South Africa on 10 August for Winnipeg and helped fight multiple fires in Canada.

"We appreciate what you've done we are very proud of you," said the department's Nonhlanhla Mkhize.

"We look forward to continuing this programme with your support."
