JOHANNESBURG - Firefighters are waging a massive battle in the Eastern Cape.
Fires have been roaring since Monday.
Working on Fire has called in an extra 100 firefighters to bolster its teams in Longmore, Sarah Baartman, Bavianskloof, Addo and Tsitsikamma.
No deaths have been reported, but scores of people from the Storms River Village have been relocated.
In the Western Cape, farmhouses are being evacuated as fires move towards Jonkersberg.
And in George, smoke remains after days of fires razed thousands of hectares of land.
Meanwhile, a wind blowing against a fire near Oudtshoorn has helped delay the flames from moving towards the Outeniqua electricity substation.
