JOHANNESBURG - Tshwane Mayor Solly Msimanga says foreign nationals who are in the country should be properly documented.
He said those who are in the country unlawfully will be assisted to go return to their country of origin.
Msimanga was speaking at a media briefing in Johannesburg where the DA unveiled its plan to secure South Africa's borders.
Msimanga added that if governing party fails to monitor South Africa's borders, the opposition will do so if they win the 2019 general elections.
The number of illegal immigrants in the country isn't known.
