Former anti-apartheid activist Ben Turok dies

JOHANNESBURG - Struggle stalwart Ben Turok has passed away.
 
The Turok family has confirmed that Turok who had been ill for some time, passed away at his home in Cape Town on Monday morning.

The outspoken former ANC MP was 92 years old.

His son Ivan told eNCA, that while Turok had dedicated his life to the ANC, he retained an independent perspective throughout.

He had been one of the fiercest opponents of state capture under the Zuma administration.

Turok is survived by his wife Mary and three sons.
