PRETORIA - Bosasa's former Chief Operating Officer Angelo Agrizzi has been released on R20,000 bail.
Agrizzi and former Chief Financial Officer Andries van Tonder, who testified at the State Capture Inquiry, were among the five who appeared briefly in the Pretoria Specialised Commercial crimes court on Wednesday.
They and former prisons CFO Patrick Gillingham were arrested by The Hawks on charges of fraud, corruption and money laundering, related to Correctional Services contracts awarded to Bosasa.
Agrizzi, Van Tonder, Gillingham, Frans Vorster and Carlos Bonafacio were released on R20,000 bail each.
"It is alleged that the officials received and accepted gifts in the form of cash. They also allegedly received financial assistance in acquiring properties, acquiring motor vehicles from dealers, other assets and payments to travel agents for overseas travel", spokesman Hangwani Mulaudzi said in a statement earlier in the day.
He said a sixth person, who is overseas, has been informed that there is a warrant for his arrest.
"Another is in Port Elizabeth and efforts are underway to bring him back to Pretoria to face the charges."
The case has been postponed to 27 March.
