Former Eskom CEO Koko hits out at De Ruyter

JOHANNESBURG - Former Eskom CEO Matshela Koko has lashed out at current CEO Andre de Ruyter, accusing him of running the power utility into the ground.

His comments come after De Ruyter more or less blamed Koko for the power crisis.

"If you listen to Mr De Ruyter you will conclude on one thing that he doesn’t have a clue about what he's managing," Koko said.

"How do you understate a breakdown?"

"When a plant is broken, it's broke you cannot keep the lights on. Mr De Ruyter is clueless and out of his depth he can't spell what he is talking about.

"You cannot understate a breakdown. We are in loadshedding because of breakdowns. Mr De Ruyter is simply exposing his inexperience that he's operating in."
