JOHANNESBURG - Former Independent Police Investigative Directorate (Ipid) boss Robert McBride was set to testify at the State Capture Inquiry but his testimony was postponed to Thursday.

He was initially set to testify on the 18th of February, while he still headed the Ipid.

McBride’s contract has since expired.

During an Ahmed Kathrada Foundation event last year, he described state capture as a silent coup.

“I will be making a submission to the State Capture Commission, the Zondo Commission, and it will be quite a comprehensive submission. It will cover quite a number of areas. We were the first state organisation to be quite outright about it,” said McBride at the time.
